Do you drive trucks in Morocco and are thinking about working in Germany? Here we explain honestly what the path can look like and what it takes.

What we offer

We look for a suitable employer for you in the Rhine-Main region: a haulage or transport company that hires you directly. You receive an employment contract with this company, and the company pays your wage.

Any necessary training and examinations take place in cooperation with our partner driving school in Rüsselsheim am Main.

Why you need a German employer

To obtain a visa to work as a professional driver, you need a specific job offer from a German employer. In addition, the Federal Employment Agency must approve the employment. This is why the first step is always finding the right employer.

The role of your truck driving licence

Your Moroccan truck driving licence is an important basis: for the route via training in Germany, you must prove that you hold the relevant driving licence in your country of origin.

However, it does not entitle you to drive in Germany permanently. A Moroccan driving licence cannot simply be exchanged without examinations – as a rule, a theory test and a practical test are required. The decision is made by the competent driving licence authority.

A driving licence and the professional driver qualification are two different things

A driving licence allows you to drive a vehicle of a certain class. The professional driver qualification (initial qualification, entered in the licence as code 95) is additionally required to transport goods commercially in the EU.

To work as a truck driver in Germany, you need both.

Your qualifications are assessed individually

Every career is different. We look at your licence classes, the date of issue, your work experience and your language skills, and tell you openly how we assess your chances. Final decisions are made by the competent authorities.

Further examinations and training in Germany

If you do not yet have an EU driving licence or the initial qualification, you obtain them in Germany alongside your job. There is a fixed time frame for this: it must be possible to complete the training within 15 months. Only in justified individual cases can this period be extended. Until then, you work for the company in a different role, not as a professional driver.

Since August 2026, the theory exam for the accelerated initial qualification at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) can be taken not only in German but also in several foreign languages, including Modern Standard Arabic and English. We clarify case by case which languages the competent IHK actually offers.

Why language matters so much

German language skills help you in lessons, in examinations, when dealing with dispatchers and customers, during safety briefings and in everyday life. They are also the key to feeling at home in Germany.

The Employment Ordinance does not generally prescribe a specific language certificate for this route. However, employers, training providers and authorities may set requirements in individual cases. We therefore recommend starting to learn German as early as possible.

Workplace, accommodation and driving school

Workplace, accommodation and driving school must fit together well – even without a car of your own. Together with the employer, we check how you will get from your accommodation to work and to your lessons. Who provides or arranges the accommodation and who bears which costs is openly clarified before the contract is signed.

What we need for an initial assessment

  • Your name and preferred language
  • Email address or phone number
  • Current place of residence and country of residence
  • Your age group (optional)
  • Your licence classes and when you obtained the truck class
  • Your professional experience as a driver
  • Your language skills
  • Whether you already hold an EU/EEA driving licence or a professional driver qualification

Please do not send us passport copies, bank details or any other documents at this first stage.

Important to know

  • A profile or application is not yet a job offer.
  • We cannot guarantee visas, entry dates or a specific salary. These are decided by employers and authorities.
  • Visas are only issued by the German Embassy – through the official procedure.
  • You do not pay any fee for our placement service – the fee is agreed with the employer.

Be careful with offers that promise a job or a visa in exchange for money.
